Originally, Soultanbeieff was scheduled to play in one of the reserves tournaments (which were won by Van Scheltinga and Van den Tol respectively), but when two Czech players didn’t arrive on time, he and Kramer were promoted to the main group.
Kmoch was arbiter together with Hubach. The games were played in the Recreatiezaal Albert Heyn, except for the rounds in Wormerveer, which were played in the Wessanen’s ontspanningsgebouw. The average game length was quite high: Soultanbeieff played more than 40 moves per game, but his average was still the lowest. [1] mentions that Znosko-Borovsky claimed a draw in his game against Soultanbeieff, but that it was not provable due to an incomplete score sheet.
