This tournament pitted the top from the different league championships against one another to determine a more or less official Flemish champion. SK Oude God, a chess club from Mortsel, organised the tournament under arbitration of one of its members, International Arbiter Gerard Heynen. The last round was played in Oude God’s club venue and the first round was played in Antwerp, but the six other rounds were held in Oostmalle. I have given the results from the preliminary sections as they are given in [1], but the total for Group B doesn’t add up. In the end, there was a surprising tie for first place. I don’t know whether any play-off was held or whether some tie-breaking system was in effect. All I know comes from [1]. Notice that I’m not completely sure of the venues given in the game file; it’s possible some of these game come from the last round, in which case they were played in Mortsel.
