According to [1] a tournament was held to determine the Belgian representative in the zonal tournament. It was organised by the KASK, the Royal Antwerp Chess Club. Originally, Rooze was supposed to participate as well, but at the last moment he had to withdraw. Too late, in fact, for any of the reserves – Schuermans, Monaville, and De Hert in that order – to be able to participate. [2] mentions that but one game was decided and gives Meulders’ victory over Weemaes, which allowed for the reconstruction of the crosstable.
