This edition of the national interclub championship was very hotly contested. In fact, the final decision came after the end of the official competition. In the first round match between Arbeiders SK and CÉ Colle, two games were also disputed off the board. The game Havaert-Segers was originally arbitrated as a win for Havaert, but this decision was later turned over and the game was drawn instead. On board five, the player from CÉ Colle did not turn up. In the end, this game was played on January 8th of 1956, and resulted in a win for Arbeiders SK, which meant that the championship was won by the KASK. The battle against relegation was very tense as well, with the match K Oostendse SK — SC Colle in the last round ending in a draw. SC Colle had to play in the Promotion section in 1956.

In the Promotion section, CRÉ Bruxelles — with Van Seters, Thibaut en Willaert — was the obvious favourite. They won all their matches and finished well ahead of their competition, securing their spot in the Honours’ division next year. Liber-Échec forfeited three of their matches.

The individual results for the Honours section are as below, but I’m still missing the detailed results for some round 5 matches.
