The crosstable and the dates come from [1], which was kindly sent to me by Mr. Melchor. This tournament was organised by the local chess club of Vence, a small place close to Nice. There were some very decent players present, including former Belgian champion Franck and Tackels. Franck started badly and ended well, Tackels started well and ended badly. In the end, American Ulvestad won with a full point on Sanz Aguado. O’Kelly was there too, as arbiter.

One game I have comes from [1], the other from [2], which was kindly pointed out to me by Mr. Melchor. I have assumed one game was played per day, so the game from the seventh round must have been played on the 12th.

Wanted

  • All but two of the games.
