From this year, the Belgian chess federation decided that its yearly congress, which was open to its foreign members, would not determine the Belgian champion any more. Instead, Belgian players could challenge the reigning champion to a match. Koltanowski was in military service when this tournament was played, which left the field wide open for Colle, who showed clear superiority.
Apparently, there was also a minor tournament in which Desnerck, Embrechts, Cap, and Cockinos participated. Unfortunately, I have only been able to find very partial results and no final standings.
Wanted
- Quite a few games, especially from the minor tournament.
- The crosstable from the minor tournament.
