I don’t know much about this tournament. I found the bulletin ([1]) in the Royal Library in the Hague. It contains all games, but no precise dates. In fact, I don’t even know where the games were played. It may have been in Brussels itself, or perhaps in Anderlecht.
The purpose of this tournament was to offer some much needed training opportunities for strong players. The tempo was 40 moves in 2:30′. There was a prize for the best game, which was awarded to Wostyn-Van Osmael. The old masters Van Seters and Devos had disappointing tournaments. The former started quite well, but finished with 1/4. Verstraeten, who had recently shared first place in the Belgian championship, scored a nice victory.
