There was also a simultaneous exhibition by the American IM Sherwin with the result +28,=2 (against R. Van de Wynkele & R. Van Nevele).

This tournament was organised by SC Jean Jaurès from Ghent, to celebrate their 25th birthday. The tournament was held in the Stadsschool at the Neermeerskaai, under direction of Hubert Thys. [1] gives the crosstables (although a small error from the crosstable for the women’s section was corrected) and many games. [2] has almost all the games, although there are some errors in the scores.

Van Seters scored a very convincing victory: two points ahead of the field and unbeaten! Admittedly, both Boey and O’Kelly de Galway, doubtless Belgium’s strongest players at this point, were missing. In second class the juniors won the day, with Ieven, Maes, Schuermans and Goormachtigh scoring very well.
