As far as I know, this is Colle’s first international encounter – and he did quite well. Especially the charming miniature against Röthemeyer deserves to be more well-known. According to [1], the guest tournament was for foreigners residing in Germany, but it states that Röthemeyer is from Cologne and Groos is from Herford. One of the games from the Colle vs. Gerbec match comes from [2].
