This mini-match was supposed to take place over three games. I have been able to unearth the first two games, which were played in December 1928 ([1],[3] & [4], with thanks to Mr. Ron de Haas). As both players were to play in the Hastings tournament, the third game had to be delayed until January 1929. According to [2], the match was supposed to be resumed, but instead the players “accepted a drawn match as the final result.” Does this mean they just abandoned the match with one game to play (and presumably shared the prize money)?
