The main tournament – won by Capablanca – started on July 31, but the minor tournaments started on Friday the 5th. Play took place in the Central Hall of Westminster. Vécsey lived in Czechoslovakia at this point (according to [1]). Balogh was born in Romania but later played for Hungary. [1] gives his initial as F., [2] gives it once as A. and once as J. The one game I have comes from an article by Koltanowski in [2].
