Team standings: 1. USSR 21 2. Poland 18 3. Bulgaria 17½ 4. Czechoslovakia 17 5. Germany I 6. Germany II 15 7. Spain 14 8. Vietnam 13½ 9. Switzerland 9½ 10. Mexico 9 11. Brazil 8½ 12. Belgium

All information I have comes from [1]. According to that source, this tournament was held in the Sports Palace. This tournament picked up where the student olimpiads stopped in 1976. There was also a women’s section, but no Belgian players participated. For the final team standings, the three best results from either section were added; since Belgium has no participants in the women’s section, only two results were counted. There were two German teams, probably because a GDR team was registered, but the GDR didn’t exist any more when the tournament was held.
