According to [1], the tournament was financed by the “Staatliche Verwaltung der oldenburgischen Ostseebäder” – whatever that may be – and directed by Brinckmann. This seems weird, since he also played in it. Or are there two Brinckmanns? In a relatively strong tournament Colle managed to remain unbeaten, drawing against both Tartakower and Nimzowitsch.
