In principle, only the winners of each of the respective preliminaries qualified for the final. This meant that Coolen was not qualified, since his SB score was lower, but when one of winners of the preliminaries (Selhofer) dropped out, he was called up as a replacement as the best second. Rightfully so: in the final he proved his ability and gained the IMC title! Ragozin started in the final but died after one month’s play, his games were annulled. [3] has some games from the preliminary; [2] has one more. The crosstables and all the games from the final come from [1]. According to [4], the final was played from 02-01-1962 to 01-03-1965.
