De Jong was a Dutch subtop player who often played training matches with strong opponents, sometimes from abroad, in Winterswijk, a small town in the east of The Netherlands. In 1947, he met O’Kelly for the first time. In the first game, de Jong won after O’Kelly messed up the endgame. All other games were won by the Belgian, though.

I only have the first game, which was kindly provided by some good people from the Max Euwe Centrum from de Jong’s original score sheet. [2] gives the final standings, which are corroborated by [4]. [3] mentions that O’Kelly was in Winterswijk for eight days. Since there were eight games and the starting day was apparently Monday, December 8th, it seems probable that one game was played daily until December 15th. Do keep in mind, though, that this is not certain.
