For the first time, the Belgian team played an international match. It ended in a narrow but honourable defeat against a very strong Dutch team. The match was played in hotel Scheers, starting at 15:30. I have found half the games scattered around Belgian newspapers and Mr. de Haas found one more in [5] and Mr. Olthof found two in [6]. A kind correspondent pointed out to me that there was one more game in [5]. The same correspondent also sent me a scan of Fick’s scorebook, which contains most of his game against Lancel. However, his score stops well before the end and he claims to have won this game, which goes against all sources I’ve seen. The picture below comes from [1].
